Health Benefits of Exercising

Exercise is known as any movement that will cause your muscles to work and requires your body to burn calories. Some activities of which are swimming, running, jogging, walking, or playing sports. Exercise plays a huge role in our lives by helping us stay physically fit and maintaining our body weight. It is proven that if we do not walk or exercise daily, we will become more prone to different diseases. Getting exercise is just as important as eating food as well as going to work and we should make it a habit to exercise on a regular basis.



There have been studies showing the numerous benefits of exercise but now we will just go into a few of them.


Firstly, exercise can and will make you feel happier. It is shown that exercising will improve your mood and decrease the feelings of depression, anxiety, and stress. By exercising, it produces some changes in the parts of the brain that regulates stress and anxiety. Furthermore, exercise has also been shown to reduce stress and improve symptoms of anxiety. Another fun fact is that no matter how intense or relaxed your exercise may be, it is shown that your mood will benefit.


Secondly, it will help with weight loss. Some may wonder how your body spends energy. Well it does in three ways which are: digesting food, exercising, and maintaining body functions like heartbeat and breathing. Some people may think that losing weight can be done simply through dieting, however, while dieting, a reduced calorie intake will lower your body’s metabolism rate, which can lead to the delaying of weight loss. On the other hand, if you exercise regularly, it has been shown that it will increase your metabolism rate, which can help you burn more calories and will then lead to weight loss.


Thirdly, it can help to reduce your risk of chronic diseases. Regular exercise has shown to improve insulin sensitivity, heart health, and body composition. It also plays a part in decreasing blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Contrasting to this, a lack of exercise will lead to significant increases in belly fat which may increase the risk of type 2 diabetes and heart diseases. That’s why physical exercise is recommended to reduce belly fat as well as decrease the risk of developing these conditions.
