What is Green Energy?

Green energy is known as a sustainable energy, which is basically any energy type that is generated from natural resources such as wind, sunlight, or water. These energy sources are not harmful to both humans and the environment around us and are also non polluting energy sources as they do not release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. What green energy basically does Is to reduce the pollution and impact on the environment that current energy sources are causing now. These energy sources that pollute the environment are energies such as fossil fuel, coal, and wood. These energies are also known as brown energy. These energies are mostly used in the creation of electricity, heating as well as fuel for boilers. As such these energy sources are the main pollutants creating the greenhouse gases that cause global warming.

With that said, this post on green energy is targeted to literate the reader on what is green energy as well as the importance of these energies to use as a substitute for the brown energy sources.

Where do these sources of green energies come from?

They come from nature itself being free to get attained. They are mainly obtained from the sun, wind, and water. One example being a wind turbine. Wind turbines have been used since 1888 and from then has been implemented everywhere to grind grains, and it is largely known as a windmill now. Another more expensive example would be nuclear and bioenergy sources.

Importance of green energy

Through a scientific study, it is said that the current generation will impact the environment in the next 50-100 years.

Firstly, acid rain. Non-renewable fossil fuels burning are currently causing greenhouse gases that cause global warming. Carbon dioxide, methane and nitrogen oxides are then released into the atmosphere, dissolving into raindrops, and thus causing acid rain. Acid rain harms crops, plants and forests which may also cause deforestation. Additionally, aquatic organisms are also negatively impacted by this as pH levels in large water bodies may be changed. Next, man-made structures such as steel bridges, marble statues as well as limestone buildings will also erode if met with acid rain.

Secondly, consumable energy of fossil fuels is not infinite. Fossil fuels such as oil and coal will sooner or later run out and vanish and will be unavailable for the years to come.

Lastly, if the pollutants caused by brown energies are decreased it would provide immense benefits for the health of the human population such as creating more clean and breathable air. With the lack of spaces all around, by reducing the amount of waste created with green energy we will be able to save space as waste management will not be needed.
